Ok, pasta can be fun to work with. However if your not familiar with cooking it you can end up with a hot mess. LOL!
Cooking pasta for beginners sounds elimentary and I plan to simply touch the surface of cooking the most common pasta spaghetti. After reading this you will feel more comfortable cooking it. There are many different pasta out in the world, but only two catagories. Fresh and Dried. Dried pasta doesnt have egg as an ingredient usually, so today for this recipe we are using dried. Fresh pasta will be another conversation.
This is a simple recipe with only few ingredients. I am all about easy recipes especially when I get home and the wifey asks me to help with dinner after work. I usually just through something together quickly and this is a go to for those time.
1 Lb pack of spaghetti
2 cans of roasted whole tomatoes
1 T. chopped garlic
1 T. Fresh oregano
salt & pepper to taste
Bring 3 QT to 1 gallon of water to a rapid boil. Add salt to the water till the water tastes like sea water. Place pasta in water and stir it occasionally, especially in the beginning because it will stick together if you don't.
Cook pasta for 8-10 minutes depending on how you like your pasta. I prefer mine with a firmer pasta and if your not sure its done either taste it or throw a piece up against a wall or a pan like I did. HA!
As for a simple sauce, I took canned fire roasted tomatoes added garlic, fresh oregano, and S&P to taste. You can also use dried garlic and oregano, but remember when using fresh ingredients the flavors already pop and you will need to give dried herb and spices more time to cook.
